Frost on the Pumpkin

“There’s frost on the pumpkin!” Eric says today. What he means is, there’s a light frost. It’s mainly on the lawn.

As I’m getting up this morning, Eric says he needs to do his chores. Today, Thursday, is trash day.

We have decided to compost all our organic material, so at least that’s one less thing to put out. Because of our move, we have six bags of trash. We do not have the same receptacles the city provides. We have to bag all our trash and put it out in front of our property.

There’s already a compost pile behind the barn. It was growing two gourds that we picked for decoration.

Daisy, the chow hound-trash digger has already gotten into my kitchen compost bin and made a mess for us. We had to hide it in the pool bathroom.

We plan to have less trash as we will probably burn all our paper products eventually. We already started a burn pile for our twigs and branches.

Now that is out of the way, we can concentrate on the backyard. I need to get my muscles warmed up with some coffee and a nice hot shower.

How cool Michelle, the gourds are pretty, I love anything that grows a fruit, flower or even a gourd, oh how I wish I was there to work in the yard with you, that is one of my favorite things to do, I’m also called the week wacker queen…………… weed wackers!
