The Carpenters are Playing Here

18Nov12

Next week, my nieces will be here for Thanksgiving and it’s their birthday. So, today we are getting ready for their visit.

I’ve wrapped all their gifts and Eric is in the garage making two swings to go on the swing set in the play yard.

After he cut both swings, I came down to help. We drilled holes in both swings and put eyelets in all the holes to hold the rope. Then, one of the swings fell on the ground. All the sudden we hear this buzzing coming from that swing. We both look at each other. We examined the swing and it has two pretty good sized holes in the center of the swing. Carpenter bees! Eric throws it out of the garage. Out comes one of the bees. It looks like we stunned him.

Eric shakes it one more time to see if that’s all there was. We hear a buzzing sound one more time. Out comes another carpenter bee and he manages to fly away.

Eric went ahead and built another swing. I’m not even sure all the bees were out of that other swing. Never a dull moment on the farm!
