Biscuit Bait

On Wednesday, Eric and I took a bag of leftover biscuits and headed out to our pond. We’d been wanting to find out if there were any fish in there.

Along the shore, there were a lot of deer footprints. The water level of the pond was relatively low due to this year’s drought.

We cast out some crumbled biscuits. However, there was no movement whatsoever.

On the way back, we saw some dead trees. We’re always looking for firewood. It’s also very important to walk the property periodically to see what needs to be done. Eric observed that the trees may had not have died there. They might’ve been placed there to stop errosion. We will probably leave them where they are.

When we got back to the barn, we cast the remaining biscuits out for the birds. We tried to be careful not to let Daisy see us do it. However, it was too late. She saw us and went barreling out to them. She picked up one and proudly pranced around with it in her mouth. No wonder she wasn’t hungry for dinner later that night!
