The Fruits (or Onions) of Our Labor

Purchasing a plow and tiller attachment for our tractor is further down the road. This year, we will be preparing the beds of the garden plot ourselves. It will take us two days for each bed of the 10 beds in our garden. It’s a lot of work. However, keeping in mind that we are just starting out, we shouldn’t have to go through all this again next year.

Yesterday, we tilled the soil. This morning, we incorporated the compost. Afterwards, we planted red and white onion sets and watered them. We have 5 rows of onions. Once all the onions were planted, we watered them good.

It’s encouraging to see the garden start to develop and we’re looking forward to getting it all set up.
