Breaking Ground

15Mar13

Last week Eric asked at the co-op here in St. Joseph if there was someone we could employ to plow our garden. They said there was someone here in Loretto who came to the co-op every Thursday. Eric left him a note hoping he’d hear from him soon.

This afternoon as I was folding laundry, I heard Goliath barking outside. I went over to check it out. Eric was talking to a guy named Julius on a tractor. He had just finished plowing my neighbor’s garden and wanted to know if we needed anything plowed.

After completing two of the beds, we were dreading the thought of finishing the other 8 beds. So, it couldn’t have come at a better time. Julius got to work and plowed up our garden plot in about 10 minutes. He just saved us about 16 days of work! Now, our garden can be planted sooner and we can spend more time working on our greenhouse. (Now, if the weather would just cooperate!)
