To Plant a Garden is to Believe in Tomorrow

Today it wasn’t raining and we had to plant the peas I soaked two days earlier. It turned out to be a beautiful day.

While at the nursery yesterday, we picked up red, brown and purple potatoes, purple asparagus, another raspberry plant (ugh! With thorns! I forgot to look.), tomato plants, and green and purple cabbage plants. This will be our first at planting asparagus and potatoes.

Eric made a planting stick for the peas. On a wood stick he placed screws 1 1/2 inches apart. We planted 216 pea plants. That’s a lot of peas!

It is really nice to see our 50’x50′ garden take shape. We’re really looking forward to harvesting it all. It’s a dream come true.
